As per the NIRF Ranking 2023, NLSIU Bangalore has bagged first place in the law category.
National Law School of India University is situated in Bangalore and was established in 1986 after a notification was passed by the National Law School of India University Act. The university has been accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. The NLSIU campus is spread over 23 acres and it has been approved by Bar Council of India (BCI). As per the NIRF 2022 ranking, the NLSIU Bangalore ranked 1st in the law category.
The responsibility of the chancellor of the university is taken up by the Chief Justice of India. Diverse law courses are offered by the NLSIU Bangalore. NLSIU Bangalore courses offers specialisation in human rights laws and business laws. NLSIU Bangalore courses provides Master’s in public policy, PhD programme, MPhil Degree programme, diploma course and Doctor of Law Degree (LLD). NLSIU Bangalore courses also offers distance education. For NLSIU Bangalore admissions to LLB courses, candidates have to appear for NLSAT and get valid marks. As per NLSIU Bangalore admission process for BA LLB, valid scores in CLAT (Common Legal Admission Test) is accepted. Candidates who want to pursue LLM have to appear for CLAT PG. For Master’s Programme in Public Policy, candidates shall appear for PAT (Policy Aptitude Test).

Candidates can enrol in the university's integrated, postgraduate, and doctorate programmes. National Law School of India University admission to B.A. L.L.B (Hons) and L.L.M programmes is based on CLAT and CLAT PG scores. Candidates must also attend the CLAT and CLAT PG counselling sessions. Candidates seeking admission to the Master of Public Policy programme at NLSIU Bangalore must take the Policy Aptitude Test (PAT) and a personal interview, according to NLSIU Bangalore admission process. National Law School of India University scholarships are available to individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who have excelled academically. Students receive NLSIU Bangalore scholarships based on their CLAT scores. NLSIU Bangalore scholarship list also covers state, national level scholarships and private scholarships. The university is included on the national scholarship portal as well as state scholarship portals in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka. NLSIU Bangalore scholarships such as the Aditya Birla Scholarship and the UGC Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship are offered and are listed below.
The following are the scholarship qualifying requirements for Colive Scholarship:
1. The family's annual income is less than Rs 6 lakhs.
2. A Class XII grade point average of 60% or above
3. Statement of Objective: This statement should clarify the purpose of applying to a specific course at a certain university, as well as information about the candidate, their ambitions, and how prepared they are to pursue a specific course at the institution.
4. A statement of intent and an application form will be used to determine 60% of the scholarship reserve.
5. 20% of the reservations will be allocated from management quotas, while the remaining 20% will be allocated based on financial position [the university will identify students based on their requests].

The admission process of National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore is carried out strictly on the basis of CLAT. The marks scored in the law entrance exam of CLAT are considered for NLSIU admission process and no other factor is taken into consideration.
Your marks of class 12th will be important in proving you eligible for the programme. Those who have less than 45% aggregate marks in their class 12th board exams are neither given admission nor allowed to sit for CLAT. Apart from that, there is no other significance of your board exam score of the 10+2 level in the admission of NLU Bangalore.
